About me

My core focus lies in Service and UX design to create and execute successful experience design strategies. I manage a small global product design team and collaborate with stakeholders worldwide.

As an Individual contributor …

I enjoy tackling complex problems and creating strategic solutions. I have experience as a user researcher and utilise data and my knowledge of behavioural psychology to understand the problem space.

I most enjoy taking a collaborative and iterative approach when ideating, to ensure that the best ideas are pulled together to create the solution. Activities often include interviews, workshops, inviting stakeholders to research sessions and rapid design critiques.

On strategic and tactical delivery work, I like to work with the team to create a ‘North star’ concept (when appropriate). It gives the team a direction to work towards and look at phased/ tactical releases, as well as reducing the chance of experience debt later down the line.

As a manager …

My role is to support the personal development and the design output of my team. I vary my management style depending on the needs of the situation and the team member.

I support the team to make sure that their work is properly briefed and that it has proper rationale to support the request (e.g. metrics). We create design plans and have regular reviews to capture feedback as the project progresses.

Outside of the day-to-day role

In design …

I enjoy coaching and mentoring others around UX methodologies. I have run UX training workshops for large groups, and presented at several panels and talks in the industry.

Currently I am lucky to have the opportunity to develop my understanding of AI and how it can be utilised in our workplace. This is an area that is only going to get bigger and I want to be a part of it.

Beyond my role…

I love to illustrate children’s books and create textile art pieces.

Top interest areas in books at the moment include neurology, behavioural sciences, history and organisational psychology.
